ABRA Gallery is very pleased to present Joyce Rumack, marking her second solo show at the Gallery. Rumack creates life-like and fun-filled colorful canvases and, for this exhibition she has created a series of paintings featuring images with impressions relating to her travels around the world with photographs aiming to express the emotional truths.
Rumack’s work shows passion and an unconditional love towards any race, sex and age, bringing out her experience first-hand to the visual possibilities made available for the viewer.
Rumack studied at Santa Monica City College and UCLA in California, she taught art for over ten years at Monclair College prep. She also taught an art program for the highly gifted through the Los Angeles school system. She received special recognition as a high school teacher from Otis Parsons School of Design and the founder’s day award for her work in the L.A. city schools.
Highlights of Rumack’s career to date have been; exhibition at the Cal State polytechnic University (College Invitational); Art Space Gallery(Woodland Hills); Cal State University Northridge; UCLA Bio-Medical library and locally in recent years Los Robles Hospital (Solo); Garden of the World x3 and Westlake Library.
Many of Joyce’s award winning paintings are in private collections in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
